She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 28th, 1961. Her father worked as a plastics manufacturer. The couple had three kids together with three daughters and one son. Coolidge has three children, one of which is English, Scottish and German-born and also has four children. Coolidge played clarinet when she was a kid and played in the orchestra camp. Coolidge was also fascinated by the dramatic arts. Coolidge graduated from Norwell High School and the Cambridge School Of Weston. Then she enrolled in Emerson College, Boston. In order to pursue acting she was a student at an acting class at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC). At first, she was interested in performing as a dramatic actor and was a fan of Meryl Streep as her model. But, she changed her focus to comedy.
